Some Facts About Dogs and Cats


NEVER give aspirin or Tylenol to your cat— it’s poisonous for them!

Did you know that Feline Leukemia is contagious from cat to cat? However it CANNOT be passed from cat to human!
Make sure you have your new feline family members tested for this deadly disease.

Cats should not eat raw fish, meat or liver even though they like it! These raw foods can contain parasites and bacteria which may be harmful to your cat.

Your sweet tooth could be poisonous to your dog . . . that is, if you share your chocolates!
Chocolate is a known poison for dogs and should be kindly kept to humans.

Large breed puppies such as Great Danes and Rottweilers should be fed according to the
food manufacturer’s recommended feedings. Overfeeding prevents proper development of bones and soft tissue.

Here’s how to tell if your dog is overweight: Feel for your dog’s ribs with the palm of your hand moving from front to back.
Can you feel the bones with just a pinch of fat and muscle? If you can’t, chances are that your pet is overweight.
Ask your veterinarian to assess your dog for you and recommend a proper diet.
